Below is an update on XUK 2021 and what XUK are doing this summer.
1. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
We are devastated to announce that we have had to cancel XUK Activity Residential Camp this summer.
We have been desperate to run and done everything we could to make it possible. However, the Government announcement that restrictions will not be lifted before the scheduled start of camp, has taken the decision out of our hands.
All parents who had bookings for this summer have been contacted directly with details regarding refunds, which we hope to process as quickly as possible.
Cancelling camp is heart breaking for us - it is our livelihood and passion and has hit us hard. Yet we will do everything we can to be back next year so we can enjoy summer 2022 together.
2. DAY CAMPS
Bookings are open for Summer though nearly full. We hope to run a near to normal camp but if this is not possible we aim to run our 'Covid-secure' camp as per Summer 2020 and Easter 2021.
If we have to cancel due to government restrictions, anyone that books will receive a refund / credit (your choice).
3. ONLINE ENGLISH LESSONS
We continue to run our Online English School, with private and group lessons for children (and adults). If you want to improve your English please contact us to arrange lessons at a time to suit you.
4. STAFF
Applications for Summer day jobs are open. Please apply via our online application.
We will continue to keep you updated with any changes.
Very best wishes

Below is an update on XUK 2021 and what XUK are doing this summer.
1. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
We have made it clear since opening bookings that we will have to cancel the camp if the government have not “removed all legal limits on social contact” by 21st June in line with their roadmap guidance.
The current government rules for running a residential camp would still not allow us to run. In particular, the 'Out-of-School' guidance, which covers our residential camp, requires strict, small bubbles (4 kids & 2 staff) to be maintained throughout the residential visit. Children and staff are not allowed to interact with or mix between bubbles at any time.
There are suggestions circulating in the press that the date for lifting restrictions may be delayed and some restrictions may remain even beyond this. Today, tougher restrictions have been introduced in certain parts of the UK – which would not allow those campers / staff to attend. Any delays from 21st June would not give us sufficient time to be ready for camp and many of the costs involved with setting up camp are not covered by insurance and cannot be held off beyond this point.
We are keeping our fingers crossed for good news when an announcement is due on Monday 14th June, after which we will provide you with a full update.
Of course, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
2. DAY CAMPS
Bookings are open for Summer. We hope to run a near to normal camp but if this is not possible we aim to run our 'Covid-secure' camp as per Summer 2020 and Easter 2021.

Below is an update on XUK 2021 and what XUK are doing this summer.
1. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
We are still planning to run XUK Activity this summer and are taking bookings.
However, we will only be able to run this summer if the UK Government Roadmap continues according to its plan, all legal limits on social contact are removed by 21st June and there are no or minimal restrictions in place.
The latest easing of lockdown, effective Monday 17th May, still does not allow us to run. There are specific rules regarding the running of out-of-school residential settings and these remain very restrictive.
If the government change their roadmap, if it is delayed or certain restrictions are not removed by mid-June, we will have to cancel the camp at late notice.
If XUK cancels camp, all deposits / payments will be credited or paid back in full.
Due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, XUK is not encouraging bookings from children who will be travelling from overseas and we encourage all families who are booking not to spend money on non-refundable travel or other related costs in case XUK has to be cancelled.
2. DAY CAMPS
Bookings are now open for Summer. We hope to run a near to normal camp but if this is not possible we will run our 'Covid-secure' camp as per Summer 2020 and Easter 2021.
4. STAFF
Applications for Summer jobs will be opening very shortly. We expect very few vacancies for residential roles and most likely any roles available will require an NPLQ. There will be plenty of Day Camp jobs for our London camp. Please apply via our online application.
5. FREE ONLINE ACTIVITIES
We are running regular online activities, including baking, quizzes & life skills. These are free and the focus is on having fun and learning new skills.
We will continue to keep you updated with any changes.
Very best wishes

Below is an update on XUK 2021 as we continue to navigate our way through Covid-19.
1. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
Nick and Richard have made the decision to run XUK Activity over Summer 2021 and bookings are now open.
This decision is based heavily on the UK Government Roadmap - 'the government hopes to be in a position to remove all legal limits on social contact' on 21st June.
XUK Activity will only run if there are no or minimal restrictions in place. If the government change their roadmap or certain restrictions are in place, we may have to cancel the camp at late notice. If XUK cancels camp, all deposits / payments will be credited or paid back in full.
Due to travel restrictions and quarantine requirements, XUK is not encouraging bookings from children who will be travelling to from overseas. We hope this will change nearer the time.
We encourage all families who are booking not to spend money on non-refundable travel or other related costs in case XUK has to be cancelled.
We are really excited to be running our residential camp in 2021. Feel free to contact us with any questions.
Let's make Summer 2021, together, the most memorable yet.

Below is a further update on XUK as we continue to navigate our way through Covid-19.
1. DAY CAMPS
Bookings are now open for our Easter & Summer day camps. We hope and expect to run these camps in a similar way to Summer 2020.
At present government guidelines include that children can attend our care if it is “reasonably necessary to enable their parents and carers to work, search for work, undertake education or training, or attend a medical appointment or address a medical need, or attend a support group”.
Of course, if we have to cancel due to government restrictions, anyone that books will receive a refund / credit (your choice).
2. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
At present the roadmap from the British government indicates it may be possible to run this summer. However, there are still many unknown barriers including implications of any quarantine, distancing requirements, testing, travel restrictions etc.
We hope to be making a decision on whether our camps will run over the next couple of weeks. We will of course update you as soon as we have more information.
3. ONLINE ENGLISH LESSONS
We continue to run our Online English School, with private and group lessons for children (and adults). If you want to improve your English please contact us to arrange lessons at a time to suit you.
4. STAFF
Applications are open for staff at our Easter Day camps though we are only now looking for Lead Playworkers. You can apply here. Our residential staff, unfortunately, will have to wait until we have made a decision on whether these will run.
5. FREE ONLINE ACTIVITIES
We are running regular online activities, including baking, quizzes & life skills. These are completely free and the focus is on having fun and learning new skills.
We will continue to keep you updated with any changes.
Very best wishes

We are still unsure if we will be able to run this summer. Due to the Covid restrictions currently in place, it is still not legal to run residential camps in the UK. Not only do we need this restriction to be lifted, but there are also many other barriers, including implications of any quarantine, distancing requirements, travel restrictions etc. We will of course update you as soon as we have more information.
3. ONLINE ENGLISH LESSONS
We continue to run our Online English School, with private and group lessons for children (and adults). Our XUK teachers are all qualified, experienced and safe to work with children.

Nick and I wish all our XUK family a happy, peaceful and safe new year.
It has been a difficult 2020 for all but there is hope ahead and if we stay patient and look after each other then hopefully we can get back to our normal lives as soon as possible.
We want to take this opportunity to give an update on our thoughts for this coming year ahead at XUK…
1. DAY CAMPS
We hope and think that we will be able to run the day camps over Easter and Summer. We aim to open bookings very soon so please keep an eye our on our bookings page.
2. RESIDENTIAL CAMPS
We are still unsure if we will be able to run this summer. Due to the Covid restrictions currently in place, it is still not legal to run residential camps in the UK. We will of course update you as soon as we have more information.

We continue to run our Online English School, with private and group lessons for children (and adults). Our XUK teachers are all qualified, experienced and safe to work with children.
