We understand why you are sending your child or teen to XUK. You want them to improve their English and their fluency of the Language. You also want them to have fun and be safe in a different country, experiencing different activities and tasting the British culture.
We have been welcoming children from all over the world since 1996. Our success in creating safe and exciting camps has helped establish XUK as a trusted international brand.
To travel to the UK your child may require a VISA or an ETA – and if so, it is essential to prepare this in advance. Please see our ‘getting to camp‘ page for more details.
We understand that you are sending your children to camp to improve their English Language fluency and we try to achieve this through various means including sports / games, activities, sightseeing, social activities and EFL lessons for those that choose.
Therefore, as well as having a fun time and being safe – our intention is that your kids improve their English during their time at camp.
Our qualified English teachers on site not only teach EFL classes but also help improve English levels throughout activity time and trips.
The structure of the camp is also designed for this same goal – more specifically:
We also continue to offer online English classes during the term time and the camps are a great opportunity to build upon concepts learned during the school year and put that learning into practice.
If you and your child would prefer a traditional English school XUK English is the perfect place.
We organise collection from Heathrow, Bristol and Gatwick as well as St Pancras International Station. We meet your child at the arrival gate and take them to camp where we’ll do everything possible to help them settle in. On departure we take them to the appropriate airport, check them in and make sure they get home safely!
For more information please look at our Getting to XUK section.
We make sure that your child makes the most of their time at XUK. We include a weekly trip to visit a beautiful English town! This is a great chance for children to have a trip off site, choose what they’d like to do for the day, and get to taste a bit more of the British culture (and shops).
There is also an option of a trip to London. We explore the sights, hear the sounds, taste the food and sample the London life. We even take campers to a show in the west end!
At XUK Excel, we offer optional afternoon English conversation classes for Beginners or Intermediates.
Each child’s English is assessed on their first day. This means that they will be able to learn with others who are at a similar stage.
At the end of the course, every child receives a certificate and report to record their achievement.
At XUK Excel, we focus on ‘learning through doing’ and our experienced staff are passionate about delivering interesting and motivating lessons. We follow a competency-based syllabus, which reflects the Common European Framework, and encourage our teachers to use interactive activities in the classroom.
On 3 afternoons of the week there are 90 minutes of lessons and we make these lessons as practical as possible and related to the activities they are doing at camp.
Our lessons are not suitable for advanced/fluent English speakers.
