Morning, Afternoon and Evening Activities

After completing their morning elective, your child will continue to have the freedom of picking from our great range of fantastic activities in the afternoon. Each day at XUK Excel ends with a fun-filled evening activity which the whole camp will enjoy together.

Morning Activities

Each morning, campers focus on their chosen ‘Elective’, allowing them to follow their passions while developing new skills:

  • Sports: Campers engage in a variety of disciplines, with each morning typically focused on two sports. They participate in matches, competitions, and skill-building sessions.

  • Art, Craft & Design: Creative campers explore fine art, graphic design, textiles, photography, 3D design, and more. Each morning offers hands-on activities where campers develop their artistic skills, experiment with new techniques, and express their creativity.

XUK Excel Trips

At XUK Excel we organise one weekly afternoon trip to a local town or city. Our trips are a wonderful opportunity to soak up British culture whilst socialising, sightseeing and shopping! The trips work on a rotation and are included in the price!

Bath

Christened Aquae Sulis in Roman times, Bath was renowned for its spa’s healing properties and huge bath complex, which is well worth a visit even today. Campers will enjoy an historical ramble along cobbled streets to the picturesque Royal Crescent, stunning abbey and banks of the River Avon – oh, and, of course, there’s plenty of independent stores and high street shops!

Salisbury

Not far from Stonehenge, Salisbury is a charming English city with the celebrated medieval cathedral at its heart, housing a rare copy of the Magna Carta. The campers can take in plenty of history as they stroll through the streets, passing Cathedral Close and a range of museums. The city has a strong arts community and the campers will also enjoy one of the regular markets, if they time their visit well!

Winchester

An unspoilt cathedral city on the edge of the rolling South Downs National Park, Winchester is England’s ancient capital and former seat of King Alfred the Great. Today, Winchester combines the best of city life with the freshness of the surrounding countryside

Chippenham

Lying on the banks of the river Avon, Chippenham is a cheerful market town near the Cotswolds Area of Natural Beauty. It has a plethora of shops on and around the bustling High Street in addition to several regular market days. With a number of parks and historical buildings, Chippenham is a wonderful place for campers to experience a typical English town.

Andover

Resting on the banks of the River Anton, the market town of Andover lies at the eastern end of the Salisbury Plain and dates to Saxon times. The narrow lanes and attractive high street are dominated by the town’s 18th century buildings. Once a busy stop-over route for London stagecoaches, we are sure the town’s shops and character will keep the campers busy!

Theme Park

Aqua Park

Explore the course & beat the water obstacles this summer… Getting wet & having fun is compulsory as you bounce across trampolines, swing across monkey bars, leap over hurdles and take on the giant iceberg!

You’ll be kitted up appropriately before entering the lake. Whether you’re an expert on the water or fancy trying something new, this trip is for you!

Laser Quest

This trip in nearbye Swindon gives you the opportunity to Zap each other in a battle with laser guns in an indoor arena complete with neon lighting

We hope your child will love the adrenaline pumping exhilaration of stalking opponents and unleashing a volley of Laser Fire in the Battle-Zone of the next Century.

And while each team breaks they have a chance to relax and enjoy the facility arcade games.

Stonehenge

Experience the unforgettable atmosphere and follow in the footsteps of the prehistoric people who lived here

We will:

  • Come face to face with a 5,000-year-old man in the exhibition!
  • Step into the Neolithic village and see if you have what it takes to move a mighty Sarsen stone
  • Get up close to the Stone Circle & take the perfect picture

London

An amazing day in the capital is available while we explore the sights, hear the sounds, taste the food and sample the London life.

Your day will begin with a walking tour, so this trip is ideal for our campers who like to be on their feet.

After lunch, it’s time to make our way to the theatre, ready for a West End show!

When the curtain goes down, it’s off to dinner. Then we return back to the coach to return camp and get ready for an action packed next day!

Leader in Training Programme

Our XUK Summer Leader in Training Programme (LIT) gives our 16 & 17 year old campers the opportunity to get a taste of what it is like to be part of our staff team whilst gaining valuable skills in problem solving, leadership, planning and time management.

In additional to taking part in their own morning activities, campers who book onto our LIT programme will receive training in how to run great activities, deliver activities to our Juniors & Inters and plan & run an Evening Activity to our younger campers.

Not included in the Excel Gold Service.

Our popular Welcome Pack is great to have at camp and also the perfect souvenir for your kids after their stay.

It includes items such as a rucksack and jumper and plenty of other things which have included sunglasses, a hat and t-shirt in previous years.
