We love arts and crafts activities at all of our day and residential camps! With Christmas just around the corner, we thought we would share some of our favourite Christmas crafts with you that you can make with your friends and family…

Melted Snowman Biscuits

You will need:

  • 12 plain biscuits e.g. Digestives
  • 6 marshmallows, halved at an angle
  • White icing
  • Black icing or melted chocolate, for decorating
  • 12 orange sprinkles
  • 24 mini M&M's or Smarties
  • 12 Matchmakers

Instructions:

  1. Spread the white icing onto the biscuits to create the melted snow.
  2. Put two eyes and a smile onto the marshmallow with the black icing and insert the orange sprinkle to create a nose.
  3. Put the decorated marshmallow onto the biscuit and secure in place with extra white icing.
  4. Then place the mini M&M’s or Smarties onto the biscuit to create buttons and break the Matchmakers to form arms.

Christmas Tree Garland

What you would need:

  • Stiff Felt in 3 different shade of green
  • Clothes pegs
  • White Pom Poms
  • String/Twine
  • Glue
  • Large Yarn Needle

How to make your garland:

  1. Firstly, stack the felt on top of each other, leaving an inch between each sheet. Trace out a triangle which forms a Christmas tree.
  2. Glue the felt onto the clothes pegs and allow the glue to dry.
  3. Thread the needle with the string/twine and poke the string through the middle of the pom poms to form a garland.
  4. Lastly, hang a Christmas tree between each of the pom poms.

Tea Light Snowman

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Battery operated tea lights
  • 2 Sharpies (Black & Orange)
  • Red Ribbon
  • Red Pipe Cleaners
  • Red Pom Poms
  • Black Felt
  • Glue Gun

How to make your Tea Light Snowman:

  1. Draw a face onto the tea light.
  2. Cut a piece of red pipe cleaner to approximately 2.5″ long. Curve the pipe cleaner around the tea light to create the headband for the ear muffs. Attach using the glue gun. Add the pom poms at each end.
  3. Cut a piece of ribbon that is approximately 4.5″ long. Cross the ribbon over and glue gun in place to form a scarf for your snowman.
  4. Finally, colour in the tea light flame with your orange Sharpie to make a carrot nose.
