Learning to Swim

We’re delighted that our friends at Mini Minors Swimming Club are about to open for the second year. The club offers swim lessons and pool parties to children aged from 3 to 12. It runs from Easter to October.

It is run by Denise Katz (pictured in the pool) and Lawrence Bernstein, a Director of Mini Minors – a provider of activity camps for children during the school holidays.

Denise is buzzing with excitement about the new swim season. “We run swimming lessons in the summer and parents kept asking if we could extend them to the rest of the year. So last year we launched the Swimming Club. We were delighted with the response. Many sessions filled up months early and we quickly decided to run again in 2003. We focus on building up confidence among smaller children and then moving n to the developing technique. Children always learn quicker when they are smiling, so we try to inject as much fun into the sessions as possible.”

The pool is situated in Brookland School, N2, and lessons take place on Sundays and after school on Mondays through to Thursdays.

Denise says all Hopes and Dreams readers are more than welcome to call her for a chat about swimming. Her swimming hotline is 07812 663 368
