Yummy camp ‘snowballs’
This recipe to make yummy ‘snowballs’ is quick, easy and great for the children to get involved with. We would love to see a picture of your finished treats so do post them on Twitter and Facebook.
You will need:
- 400g white chocolate, broken into small pieces
- 100g of rich tea biscuits
- 50g of maltesers
- 50g dried cranberries
- 50g cakes crumbs (can use shop-bought cake)
- 3 tbsp. golden syrup
- 100g desiccated coconut
- Mini marshmallows
- Stage one – Melt chocolate in a bowl either in the microwave or over a pan of simmering water (to be completed by an adult). At the same time crush biscuits and maltesers in a bowl. This is the first chance for the children to get involved, just be careful with your crushing method.
- Stage two – Put all of the other ingredients (cranberries, cake crumbs and mini marshmallows) into the bowl. You can then add the chocolate and golden syrup, ensuring that you mix well.
- Stage three – Pour the coconut onto a plate. Here comes the messy part! Put a spoonful of mixture onto the plate and roll around into a ball until it is covered in coconut. Repeat with the rest of the mixture.
- Stage four – Place on a baking tray and leave to cool for 30 minutes to 1 hour. To make them pretty you can also get the children to cover them in sprinkles as well.
- Stage five – Now this is the best stage…. Tasting time!
Don't forget to let us know how they taste!!! Happy Baking from the whole XUK team
