XUK Covid-19 2022 information

10th March 2022

We are so happy that it looks like we will be able to welcome back campers for what promises to be a wonderful and fulfilling summer.

The UK is opening up and restrictions are disapearing, giving us confidence that this summer we will be back!

Our campers’ welfare is of paramount importance, and we will do everything in our power to make sure the camps remain a safe environment for all. Our Policies & Procedures continue to underpin this philosophy, but we will also ensure that we conform fully with any government Covid-19 guidelines.

With this in mind, we have put together some common questions and answers, which are aimed at reassuring the XUK community as much as we are able. Of course, do contact us if you would like to discuss things further.

We look forward to seeing everyone in the summer!

Richard and Nick

Where are XUK’s Covid-19 Policies?

At present, our policies are integrated in our main Ps & Ps document. If this changes and we need to revert back to more Covid rules they will not be published until nearer the time.

What are the rules for travelling to and from the UK?

The rules change regularly. The current rules are shown on the UK government website.

We strongly recommend checking your own country’s guidance in case there are separate travel restrictions that may apply for your return home.

Do campers need to be vaccinated?

Whilst this is currently not an expectation, the rules may change. This is likely to be most significant when travelling to and from the UK. Do check the latest travel guidelines and we also recommend checking your own country’s guidance.

Will campers need to be tested?

We are unable to say for sure at the moment. We will keep abreast of the latest medical and travel guidance, and respond accordingly for the summer.

What are you doing to make camp Covid-19 safe?

We cannot eliminate the risk of contracting Covid-19 at camp.

In addition to our Health & Safety measures outlined in our Policies & Procedures, we will follow the latest government guidelines at the time. This may include increased cleaning, hand washing, adapting activities, introducing social distancing, and increasing ventilation further.

What happens if a camper contracts Covid-19?

If a camper contracts Covid-19 at camp we will follow the latest medical rules for England. An isolation area will always available if needed, and our Health Coordinator will ensure campers are well looked after.

Can I change or cancel my booking?

Yes! Do check our Terms & Conditions for full details. If your country or the UK change the rules, preventing a camper from travelling, then we will refund your balance.

What happens if XUK has to cancel the camp?

If we do not run camp, full refunds will be offered.
