As this year comes to an end we wanted to thank all of our campers, parents, and staff for being a part of XUK in 2023!
Over 5 weeks in the summer we welcomed 691 incredible campers to our residential camp at Dauntsey’s School in Wiltshire. 43 countries across the world were represented – and our furthest camper travelled over 6449 miles to join us! We were there to welcome these campers when they arrived and then see them safely on their way home at the end of their stay – over the summer we picked up and dropped off over 400 campers to Heathrow, Gatwick and Bristol Airports and St Pancras Station in London.
The catering team at Dauntsey’s provided us with absolutely delicious food this year, during our residential camp we enjoyed 1350 free-range eggs, 435kgs of baked beans, 845 battered cod fillets, 790 chocolate eclairs, and 4300 croissants!
Our day camps continued to run for their 27th consecutive year! Hosted at Brookland School in North London, our Easter and Summer Day Camps welcomed 637 campers this year - who did over 192,000 bounces on the bouncy castle (estimated!).
We were lucky enough to have an amazing staff team this year across both the day and residential camps whose hard work, energy and dedication helped us to ensure each child had the best possible time over their holidays! Our Easter and Summer day camp team of 79 staff members, and our residential camp team of 82 staff members, was made up of qualified teachers, dancers, drama specialists, nurses, first aiders, sports coaches and more! 6 of our staff members this year once attended XUK as a camper themselves – some of them have been a part of XUK as either a child or an adult for over a decade!
We made so many amazing memories, formed new friendships, and tried lots of new things this year - and we were there to capture these moments with an incredible 6149 photos taken at the residential camp and 1932 photos taken at the day camp.
