A summer of camp to remember...

We’re just over a week into September and our summer camps have been over for a couple of weeks now. This summer, over a thousand children have had an incredible time at our day and residential camps. We have seen so many smiles, heard so much laughter and even seen tears when it was time to go home!

One of the key ingredients to the success of a summer camp is an amazing staff team. We are so lucky to have an incredible team made up of qualified teachers, sports coaches, lifeguards, students... We cannot thank them enough for providing our campers with awesome, fun & safe activities. Every year we are blown away by the new ideas they bring to camp. We have already had enquiries from prospective new staff members interested in joining the team in 2020. Watch this space, our application will go live towards the end of the year to work at both our day and residential summer camps.

We are very lucky to have the campers we do attending our summer camps. It is wonderful to see kids & teens trying new activities – sometimes out of their comfort zone, cheering on their team mates and coming with so much enthusiasm every year. It is a privilege to have them not just on camp, but to take on trips too, allowing our campers to have even more fun, embrace British culture and see the amazing sights the UK as on offer. Each week, each camp selected the ‘best’ camper to win our ‘Citizen of the Week’ and ‘Star Student’ award which gives the winner a free week at camp next year. This award was given to campers this year who were polite and courteous, enthusiastic, friendly, team players, caring and great young people to have at our camps.

Lots of amazing friendships developed this summer. We have already received quite a few pictures from camper reunions around the world. Head over to our Instagram to see these. Please keep the pictures coming, it really does make us beam from ear to ear knowing that because of the magic of summer camp, our campers now have friends all over the world.

So, what happens now? We often get asked what we do throughout the year... In the office we will be reflecting on the year, what went well and what can we do to make 2020 even better. It won’t be too long until we launch our booking form for 2020 so we need to have everything ready to go including our 2020 brochure. If you have any great ideas for next year such as new activities, please let us know, we would love to hear them!
