Keeping your children safe at XUK

Safeguarding the welfare of our children is XUK's primary duty

Whilst your child is in our care we are responsible for their wellbeing and safety. In everything we do, the welfare of your child will be our top priority.

Safeguarding refers to all things that adults do to keep children safe and protect them from harm.

In order to keep your children safe and for your peace of mind, XUK does the following things:

  • Each camp has a Designated Safeguarding Lead and supporting deputy. These are staff members specially trained by external agencies to deal with safeguarding issues.
  • All of our staff are trained in safeguarding and child protection, and know to talk to their Designated Safeguarding lead if they have any worries about a child.
  • We will refer any worries about a particular child to the local Safeguarding Board who will advise us on the best course of action to take.
  • We also encourage parents to discuss any matter concerning their child with a member of the team in order to help us carry out our duties effectively.
